Women, Infants and Children
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a service made available to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, as well as infants and children up to age 5 who are found to be at nutritional risk.
WIC provides supplemental foods, healthcare referrals and nutrition information for those who qualify. The Grayson County Health Center coordinates WIC services. Eligibility is based on income, household size and nutritional need. When applying, have identification, proof of residence and household income information available to help determine eligibility.
The Grayson County Health Center provides anonymous and confidential family planning education and assistance to women of all ages. Family planning helps ensure that children are wanted, among many other benefits.

Kentucky has one of the highest cancer death rates in the country. We know early detection is critical to improving survival rates and it is therefore especially important to remain up-to-date on all yearly exams.
The Grayson County Health Center offers free or low-cost well-women exams that include breast exams and pap tests in addition to mammogram referrals for women age 40 and older who qualify.

Immunizations have all but eradicated many diseases that in the past were very serious and deadly. They are essential to the health and welfare of our communities and our nation.
The Grayson County Health Center offers childhood immunizations, school shots and seasonal vaccines for those who qualify.
Tuberculosis Screening and Investigation
Tuberculosis is an airborne, bacterial disease that most often affects the lungs. However, it also can cause damage to the kidneys, spine and brain. It can be fatal if not treated properly.
The Grayson County Health Center offers tuberculosis testing and preventative medicine and treatment.

Communicable Disease Investigation
The Grayson County Health Center provides investigation of communicable disease in the community to prevent its spread to others. The center also is a source of information on communicable disease prevention.
Proper dental hygiene is essential to overall health. Children are especially susceptible to tooth decay and/or cavities. To help prevent this chronic childhood condition, the Grayson County Health Center offers fluoride varnish for children up to 5 years of age.
Sexually Transmitted Infection Testing and Treatment
STDs are serious diseases spread through sexual contact. They are often painful, but are completely preventable.
Confidential and anonymous counseling, testing and treatment are available at the Grayson County Health Center.
Proper prenatal care is an important step in having a healthy pregnancy and delivering a healthy baby. To help ensure healthy pregnancies and healthy babies, the Grayson County Health Center offers a referral service to assist pregnant women in finding the proper healthcare provider in their area.

Newborn screenings are necessary to determine if babies have specific medical conditions. A medical professional should perform these exams in a timely manner, normally before a newborn leaves the hospital. However, in the event of a homebirth, newborn screenings are available at the Grayson County Health Center.

Workplace wellness programs are available to support and encourage participants to be at their best health. Those covered by Kentucky employee health insurance (KEHP) plans can take advantage of these services at the Grayson County Health Center through Go365 for Commonwealth of Kentucky Employees. Center professionals will travel throughout the community to perform health screenings for members of Go365 program. They also accept walk-in appointments for those wanting assistance.
Screenings help encourage and support staff members to achieve their optimum health, which can lower the cost of health insurance. In addition, the program rewards healthy behaviors and recommends goals to improve overall health and health risks.
